Practice Robot Piece

My to-do list for both today and tomorrow includes the phrase "Practice Robot Piece."

How fun is that?

CL, my composer buddy, had to write a piece for a composition class. He asked me to be the singer in it. Today, I met the alto flutist and the violinist who are also playing it. It's a really interesting mix of sporadic and planned, mechanical and human. Great contrasts all throughout. Very avant garde.

Tomorrow, I get to sing it in his class. I hope I do okay with it. Three days isn't enough time to really learn a piece and be able to do it justice, but hopefully my best will be good enough.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be dreaming it tonight...
