I'm currently creating slides for my 19th century opera singers presentation tomorrow. They're really handouts for my 30 minute lecture, but I'm much faster composing layouts in PowerPoint than in Word thanks to the consulting training.
That said, I'm missing the Macros we had in consulting. These were lovely automatic templates, like columns and boxes, that would pop up with just the right format when you hit a custom toolbar button. Creating them from scratch is taking me much longer. Vista is at times helpful and at times a learning curve since I haven't used it much. But it looks like Microsoft added a few bells and whistles perhaps based on consulting firms' feedback. It's just enough to make me miss the old amenities.
Ah well. Enough grousing. The upside is that I'm still thinking about all kinds of interesting and very cool aspects of 19th century opera.
Back to the bullet points....
