Those two little objects you see in the picture are as good as gold to me these days. Maybe better.
I love my apartment, and it is fairly close to most things, including school. But one luxury I miss from my prior place is the in-apartment washer and dryer. Here, there's a laundry room on my floor, but the coin-operated machines are a bit, well, ravenous. $1.75 per load of wash and $1.50 per dryer spin mean that I run out of quarters fast.
Amazing how you find yourself willing to subvert the natural laws of money, thinking about finding a neighbor and offering to pay $1 in exchange for 25 cents in coin form. Luckily, my wonderful family took pity on me and emptied their coin jars before coming to visit. May they find dollar bills sprouting in unlikely places in return. Especially these days.
