You have a big mouth; use it!

This was the advice given to me in yesterday's voice lesson. My teacher was speaking with respect to my high notes and passagio (D, E, F an octave up from middle C). As you get higher, you need to create more space for the notes. I tend to keep my mouth too small. When I do "open my big mouth," I end up with an enormous increase in volume.

Evidently I've only been using about half of my instrument. What's really there is opera-sized. Pretty cool.
